Coast Guard Makes "Extremely Difficult Decision" to Suspend Active Search for Missing Firefighters at Sundown

 

During a news conference today Captain Mark Vlaun of the US Coast Guard state that he was making the "extremely difficult" decision to suspend the active search for Fairfax County Master Technician Justin Walker & Jacksonville Firefighter Brian McClumey at sunset this evening. The search area has now exceeded and area of 105,000 square miles. Capt. Vlaun stated that in the absent of additional information or clues, there is no way to pinpoint an accurate location to search. The Coast Guard will continue looking for Justine & Brian during their routine patrols. If additional information becomes available, they will resume an active search. Please keep Justine& Brian, their families & friends, Justin's shift at Fire Station 5/B in Franconia & Brian's shift at Jacksonville Station 31 in your thoughts and prayers.
