Brothers and sisters in order to provide transparency to the membership I want to provide you with my July activity report. In a effort to keep this month's report shorter for you I will not be listening every phone call or meeting I took in the month of July.
During the past month I have worked daily on the Cigna contract dispute with Mary Washington Healthcare. These efforts include: Emails, meetings with MWHC , Cigna , local media, the VPFF and the IAFF. In addition to the above a lot of work has gone into planning our rally to include meetings with Fredericksburg City officials, permitting and logistics. Lastly the planning of a social event to follow after the rally. The social event will be held at Maltese Brewing in Spotsylvania directly after the rally.
Alot time has been dedicated to this issue in a effort to advocate for our membership. I strongly believe we are making progress on this issue! I look forward to seeing as many of you as possible at our rally on August 7th. Should our goal of having a new contract in place prior to August 7th be achieved we will still have our social event at Maltese Brewing.
